This feathered friend is not just a pet; she’s an educational companion, teaching our young students valuable lessons in responsibility and ecology.

Peggy’s arrival has been met with chirps of excitement and flaps of joy. The 1st graders are responsible for her daily care, from feeding to cleaning her habitat. This hands-on experience teaches them important life skills like responsibility, empathy, and teamwork.

But Peggy is not just about fun and feathers. She’s also an educational goldmine. Our students are learning about avian biology, ecosystems, and the importance of wildlife conservation. They’ve even started a “Pelican Journal,” where they document Peggy’s behaviors, eating habits, and any notable interactions.
